Hi Everyone!
I decided that it would be a good idea to keep a blog during my time as a senior...especially during student teaching. I want to be able to remember some of these wonderful and funny experiences and even those challenging and difficult ones. Also, when I go to Africa, I want people to be able to keep somewhat updated.
Well, I already have three weeks of student teaching in out of ten (really like nine weeks and 2 days). So, that means that Africa is coming soon! I cannot believe that I am actually at this point in my life. How did time slip by so quickly? Being a senior has really been a hard concept for me to swallow. I don't know if it is due to the several new changes in my life right now, but I have been very emotional lately about life in general and where I am in it. I truly am loving being in the classroom, but sometimes I wonder "what am I doing here?" I get scared that just maybe there is something else; however, then I see a struggling student grasp a new concept or idea and I know that I am right where I am meant to be. The past several years can be summed up by two things: change and God's faithfulness. Without the latter of the two, I would have not been able to deal with all of the change. There are times still when I feel like there is so much uncertainty in my life in so many areas. I think that God is still trying to teach me that I cannot rely on man at all and that I can only depend on Him and His perfect timing. Being a list making freak, I love to plan for everything. But God is stretching me. I am not sure sometimes the "whys" but I am learning that it okay that I just know He's working. One verse that keeps coming to my mind lately is Isaiah 2:22 which says, "Stop trusting in man, who has but breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?" This verse is so powerful because it makes you stop to realize how silly it is to put your trust anywhere but in the sovereign hands of God. How reassuring!
I think it is now time to start some lesson planning. Tuesday I start teaching math which is exciting! Stay tuned for some funny stories as I teach the kids a "Rounding Rap!"
